Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936), writer and literary and art critic and much else. He had a regular column in the Illustrated London News and, in 1090, was submitting articles to many other journals. The London Pavilion of the time of this pass had opened in November 1885. It stood at the corner of the newly created Shaftesbury Avenue and Piccadilly Circus and was for many years one of the most popular music-halls in London.
