cf. HGC 6, 358-9 (for prototype); OTA-Class IIIa. Obverse: Stylized head of Dionysos left, wearing ivy wreath; Reverse: Stylized Herakles standing right, holding club and lion skin; four pellets in diamond pattern to outer left and inner right. A great example of this somewhat degraded imitative issue, presenting all of the details to convey the prototype, but with none of the technical precision. Bold and very lightly toned.
