Obverse: Head of Arethousa left, with hair in sakkos adorned with a star; pellet flanking neck; Reverse: Herakles kneeling right, strangling the Nemean Lion; rocks below. Very well centered and quite boldly struck, this immensely majestic offering presents a level of quality and refinement that is near the apex for the series. When combined with the extensive pedigree and its published status in Bérend, it is easy to see why such an exemplar could soar to lofty heights.
