BOEOTIA. Tanagra. AR Drachm (6.00 gms), ca. 500-480 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5.
HGC-4, 1282; BCD Boiotia-246 = Asyut-248 (this coin). Obverse: Boiotian shield, with horizontal T facing inward in one opening and horizontal A in the other; Reverse: Square incuse with anticlockwise mill-sail pattern. A VERY RARE variant of the issue more commonly featuring horizontal Ts rather than a T and A. Some minor roughness is observed on the obverse, but solid coloring is present, with great centering as well.
