AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. Gold Medallic Ducat, 1513. Hall Mint. Maximilian I. PCGS EF-40.
Egg-pg. 46. Obverse: Bust of Frederick III Right, wearing turban; Reverse: Inscription in Five lines; radiant sun above. An EXTREMELY RARE and elusive medallic Ducat, this impressive specimen commemorates the reinterment of Frederick III in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. The strike on this example is strong and complete, with rich gold tomes running throughout the surface. Handling is light and limited, with very pleasing appeal still shining throughout. An elusive piece that has been off the market for over a decade, and as such, the collector of European RARITIES will be thrilled by this offering.
