INDIA. Dhar. 1/2 Pice, 1887. Calcutta Mint. Anand Rao Pawar III (under Victoria as Empress). PCGS PROOF-64 Red Brown.
KM-12; Prid-1030. An exceedingly elusive issue in proof strike, this wonderful specimen delivers a shimmering eye appeal and soft red color throughout the flan, with only limited signs of brown. The surfaces are unhandled, and largely uncontacted, with much beauty on the piece. The evidence of this piece suggests an original proof striking, with no lacquer or hairlines, though there is always the possibility of an early restrike. Whatever the case, this piece displays phenomenally and looks amazing in the old green PCGS holder.
Estimate: $1000 - $1500
