INDIA. Bengal Presidency. Rupee, "Year 19" (struck 1793-1818). Calcutta (as "Murshidabad") Mint. In the name of Shah Alam II. PCGS PROOF-64.
KM-99.1; Stevens-4.19; Prid-160. While a common enough type of the et infra Bengal Rupee when a business strike, this Proof issue is of the utmost RARITY and importance. The strike on this example is far more exacting than the common circulation issues, with crisply formed rims and a general sharpness of details throughout. Deep tone coats the surfaces, and limited signs of handling are seen. A piece that will make the collector's heart skip a beat.
Ex: David Fore Collection.
Estimate: $1500 - $2500
