Struck 933-938. + EÐELSTΛN R+, crowned bust right / • FREDΛRD MONETΛ (retrograde and inverted, except last letter), small cross pattée. Blunt, Aethelstan 318; SCBI 30 (American), 341 var. (rev. legend not retrograde or inverted); EMC –; North 673; SCBC 1094. Near EF, toned, flan bent, minor rim split, tiny edge chip. Strong portrait, and an unpublished variety with this unusual reverse legend orientation.
