LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 8.03 g, 6 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; below chin, ΔΩPI. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to left; above leaf, pitchfork; below leaf, ΔA. HN Italy 1582. Johnston Class C, 5.1. Harshly cleaned and with some minor weakness and small deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
