LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 510-480 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.14 g, 6 h). ΜΕΤΑ Five-grained ear of barley; border of dots between two concentric linear circles. Rev. Bull's head, incuse; rayed border. Noe 287. SNG ANS 269. A truly spectacular example, rare thus; very sharply struck and with a lovely dark grey patina as found. Extremely fine.
