BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 480 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 7.95 g, 1 h). ϘΡΟ (retrograde) Tripod with three ring handles and legs ending in lion's paws; cable border. Rev. Eagle flying left, with spread wings (incuse); rayed border. HN III 2108. SNG ANS 292 (same dies). Rare with the eagle to left, very well-struck and nicely toned with a remarkably fine and attractive reverse. Obverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, good very fine/extremely fine.
