PHOENICIA. Arados. Circa 348/7-339/8 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 10.53 g, 9 h). Laureate head of Ba'al-Arwad to right; on cheek, countermark: 𐤁 ('b' in Phoenician) within oval incuse. Rev. 𐤌𐤀𐤁 ('mab' in Phoenician) Galley to right right above waves. Betlyon 26. HGC 10, 36. Nicely toned and unusually attractive. Struck from a worn obverse die on a tight flan as usual, otherwise, good very fine.
