George IV, proof crown, 1826, bare head left, rev. crowned helmet over shield of arms, SEPTIMO raised lettered edge (S.3806; ESC.2336, old ESC.257), certified and graded by NGC as Proof-58, light rubbing on high points (from resting in trays long ago) but a very appealing coin with the usual bold details, reflective fields and rich grey toning with some iridescence; the coin issued in the proof sets of this year displaying the new portrait ordered by the king and the shield reverse, rare with an estimated mintage of 400 pieces in all
