George V, proof 'error edge' crown, 1935, jubilee bare head left, rev. Saint George and the dragon of modern style, raised lettered edge with legend reading DECUS ANNO REGNI ET TUTAMEN • XXV in error, segments out of order (S.4048; ESC.3657), certified and graded by NGC as Proof-65 Cameo, light golden grey iridescent toning over splendid mirrored surfaces; clearly among the finest known of this extremely rare variety of the popular Deco-style horseman crown issued in this year only in celebration of the king's 25th year of ruling over modern Democratic Britain
Only one other graded as Proof-65 Cameo by NGC, two graded higher.
