Victoria, proof shilling, 1853, young head left, rev. 'face' value within wreath, crown above, date at bottom, milled edge (S.3904; ESC.3003), certified and graded by PCGS as Proof-63, a nice choice specimen enhanced by most pleasing light iridescence over brilliant surfaces, excellent portrait of young Queen Victoria, mintage and reason for issue unknown, perhaps 30 pieces known in all, very rare
