KM# Pn-218 Var Metal, PL-56 – 20 Centavos 1980 Mo. PRUEBA EN LATÓN. NGC MS63. TOP POP.- A finales de la década de los 70´s y principios de los 80´s, México padecía un declive del poder adquisitivo y el aumento desmedido de la inflación, ante esto se planteó un proyecto de tres monedas que serían más costeables, decretado el 31 de diciembre de 1979, consistiendo en la puesta a circulación de 20, 50 centavos y 1 peso con motivo de las culturas Olmeca, Maya y Azteca respectivamente. Las primeras pruebas de 20 centavos se acuñaron en 1980 en diversos metales, el visto bueno sería dado hasta 1983 año en que vería la luz como emisión circulante en cobre. La presente acuñada en latón, tonificación iridiscente por ambas caras, uno de los dos ejemplares graduados al momento en MS63 por NGC. MUY RARA

At the end of the 70's and beginning of the 80's, Mexico suffered a decline in purchasing power and an excessive increase in inflation. In response to this, a project was proposed for three coins that would be more affordable, decreed on December 31, 1979, consisting of circulation of 20, 50 cents and 1 peso with the Olmec, Mayan and Aztec cultures, respectively. The first patterns of 20 centavos were struck in 1980 in various metals, the approval would be given until 1983 when it would see the light of day as a circulating issue in copper. This is one of two specimens graded MS63 by NGC at the time, struck in brass with iridescent tones on both sides. VERY RARE
