SELEUCID KINGDOM. Antiochus III the Great (222-187 BC). AR tetradrachm (28mm, 17.09 gm, 12h). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5. ΔΙ mint in southern or eastern Syria, from ca. 202 BC. Diademed head of Antiochus III right with older portrait, short hair lying close to skull, bangs with light break on forehead, diadem ends falling straight behind; dotted border / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / AN-TIOXOΛ, Apollo seated left on omphalos, testing arrow in right hand, left hand on grounded bow to right; dotted border. SC -, cf. 1112 (ΔI in exergue, reverse legend). Cf. Leu Numismatik, Web Auction 29 (24 February 2024), lot 1085 for similar type (same obverse die, ΔI in exergue). Blundered reverse legend with seemingly upside-down Y. Apparently unpublished in standard references.
