Great Britain. William IV (1830-37). Proof Crown, 1834. Bare head right, W.W. on truncation, rev. Crowned shield on mantle. ESC 2465 {275} - [R5], KM -, S.3833. PCGS PR 64 CAM, frosted designs prominent against a dark toned field, extremely rare. The 1834 pattern Crown of William IV is of extreme rarity, with fewer than ten examples known. Of identical design to the scarce but far more commonly seen 1831 Crown, the 1834 issue has a distinctive metal flaw at 11 o'clock on the obverse. An example graded PR62 sold in August 2017 for $80,000 hammer.
