Birr EE 1887 = AD 1895 A (Silver, 40 mm, 28.13 g, 6 h), Paris. ዳግማዊ፡ምኒልክ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ ዘኢትዮጵያ። ('His Imperial Majesty Menelik, King of Kings of Ethiopia' in Ahmaric) Crowned and draped bust of Menelik II to right; date ፲፰፻፹፯ ('1887' in Ge'ez) below. Rev. ሞዓ ፡ አንበሳ ፡ ዘእምነገደ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡፡ ('Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah' in Ahmaric) / ነሐሴ:ብር ('One Birr' in Ahmaric) Crowned Lion of Judah to left carrying a bannered cross, mintmark A below. KM 5. Nicely toned. Some marks, otherwise, nearly very fine.
