Edition of 50 in silver; these were ordered by Wyon from the Die Department at the Mint on 13 September 1845. The personal gift of Albert, several were presented to those who rendered important services to the Great Exhibition, 1851. Wyon took the reverse design, in 1842, from the upper adornment of John Flaxman's National Cup, executed by Rundell, Bridge & Rundell for George IV in 1825
