KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 14.52 g, 4 h), Amphipolis, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 342/1-329/8. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, bee; below raised foreleg, janiform head. Le Rider pl. 41, 455 (D227/R406, this coin). Toned, struck on a broad flan and with an elegant head of Zeus. Good very fine.
