INDIA, INDIAN IMITATION. Late 2nd-mid 3rd century. AV (22mm, 7.73 g, 12h). Sasanian/Roman hybrid. IACIII VV CCOO, Sasanian-style bust (of Yazdgird I) to right / ΠΛIOΠ Λ [...], figure seated right, reaching for infant. Cf. SNS III Type Ib1/1a (for obv.) and RIC IV 549 (Severus; for rev). Toned, deposits, marks, slightly bent, holed twice for suspension (with modern cord attached), and once in antiquity with gold plug inserted to bring the coin up to aureus weight. Fine.
