NGC PF45 | George I (1714-1727), Silver Proof Halfpenny, 1717, 'Dump Issue', laureate and cuirassed bust right, rev. Britannia seated left holding olive branch and spear, edge plain, 10.51g, 5h (SJA 3, 3 October 2005, lot 369 same dies; Gregory 345; Pywell-Phillips -; BMC [Peck] 771; Spink 3659), an evident pocket piece with peripheral die breaks, with only faint traces of lustre in recesses, otherwise handsomely cabinet toned, very fine, extremely rare, in NGC holder, graded PF45 (Cert. #6769462-004).
