EASTERN EUROPE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st centuries BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.10 g, 1 h). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. Legend reduced to two rows of pellets. Herakles standing facing, head to right, holding lionskin (reduced to pellets) over his right arm and resting his left on grounded club (reduced to line and pellets). OTA Class V. Attractive Picasso-esque portrait. Lightly toned. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
