SWEDEN. 1/2 Mark, 1536. Stockholm Mint. Gustav Vasa. NGC EF Details--Cleaned.
SM-132(124); Delzanno-103; Appelgren-518(1295); Bruun Auction-403; Bruun-11447. Weight: 6.59 gms. Very rare and excellent for type, 1536 was the introductory year for the Mark and Half Marks coins in Sweden. Minute green deposits in a few crevices (wax?) and while weakly struck at center, the portrait is still relatively clear. The rest of the coin is superb, the planchet is flat and uniform and the legend clear.
From the L. E. Bruun Collection.
Estimate: €1500 - €2000
