WORLD COINS, IRELAND Mixed Date Proof Set (8), with 1931 (5), Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Penny & Farthing, 1931, complete for year; & 1928 Sixpence, Threepence & Penny, S6625-6632, with Green card box marked Saorstát Éireann (Irish Free State) as issued. The coins are all superb high grades, with light tone, & strong underlying brilliance in fields, with strong cameo contrast, without contact marks or edge damage & evenly matched toning although lighter on the Halfcrown & Florin. Provenance dates to a New Zealand senior official at the time of the introduction of New Zealand's own distinctive coinage. Light fingerprint traces on Bronze, small tone mark on Penny Rev, box scuffed, with upper pad detached but intact. Rare & particularly so in this condition. Although some authorities list these as Specimen Sets, this highly attractive complete set is PROOF.
