TUDOR. Elizabeth I. 1558-1603. Cast Gilt Æ(?) Medal (48mm, 37.53 g, 12h). Dangers Averted – Naval Reward. After N. Hilliard. Later cast of a 1588 original. Crowned facing bust of Elizabeth, holding scepter and globus cruciger and wearing large ruff / Bay tree on island inscribed NON IPSA PERI/CVLA TANGVNT; ships around, winds and storms in sky. Cf. Eimer 61A-B (for original type with full obverse legend); MI 155/132. With attached loop. Good VF.
