First Date of Issue - Listed in Sieg as Unknown
DENMARK. Exchange & Mortgage Bank. 10 Rigsdaler Courant, 1768. PMG Very Fine 25.
Pick-A25b. Rønning-S31b. Sieg-34A. Bruun-11. Listed in Sieg as 'unknown.' The first date of issue of this particular variety, with the monogram of Frederik V embossed in the paper. Some internal tears, but with little of the printing impacted. Not surprisingly, this is the only example in the PMG population report for PIck-A25. PMG Comments "Internal Tears."
Sieg is incorrect on this issue, stating that 1768 and 1770 with the monogram of Frederik V are only found with serial numbers up to 18.000. This example shows a higher serial number, which, according to Sieg, would have the monogram of Christian VII. It shows that due to their rarity, much remains unknown of these 18th-century Danish issues.
