Finest 1793 50 Rigsdaler Courant Graded
DENMARK. Exchange & Mortgage Bank. 50 Rigsdaler Courant, 1793. PMG Very Fine 30.
Pick-A31. Rønning-S35. Sieg-42. Bruun-32. Blue paper. The second-highest denomination and the most challenging to find of this series was printed on blue paper. This is the finer of only two examples in the PMG population report, and despite some small tears and annotations, is seen here with excellent eye appeal. Surely missing from even the most advanced collections of Denmark - Norway. PMG Comments "Small Tears, Annotations."
The 50 Rigsdaler is the undisputed key to this series, printed with just six different dates between 1785 and 1794. This is the second-to-last date of issue, which had a print run of 42,000 notes.
