Gorgeous and Excessively Rare Watchet Penny

Pointed Helmet (BMC xiv) type; S-1158; North-787; Hild - (type G); SCBI Cop-3919 (plate coin); Blackburn-23b (this coin); Bruun-969. Weight: 1.12 gms. Moneyer: Gotcild. Superbly struck, lustrous and with a gorgeous multicolored toning. Excessively rare. For a period of 35 years Godcild seems to have been the only moneyer at the Somerset town of Watchet and the present coin is struck from the only known Pointed Helmet dies from this mint.
