Extremely Rare and Impressive Pointed Helmet Type

Schive-Unlisted; NM-8; NMH-49; Stenersen-Class L, cf. 3-5; Bruun-8873; Weight: 0.81 gms. Apart from two reverse spots of flaking, this is a magnificent example with an impressive portrait.
This extremely rare type with a bearded, facing head wearing a pointed helmet is believed to be struck towards the end of Olav Kyrre's reign, and bears strong resemblance to the Hiberno-Norse imitations of Edward Confessor.
