Exceptionally Well-Struck and Rare
NORWAY. Penny, ND (1299-1300). Oslo Mint (?). Håkon V Magnusson. NGC AU-55.

This type, which was formerly believed to be a 1/2 Penny, is known through the archives as a "Albi Rosati" (White Roseate) that although of a lighter weight was struck with an increased fineness as a counterpart to the vehemently unpopular so-called "Black Crown" Pennies. The design was copied from the Scottish Sterlings.
From the L. E. Bruun Collection.
