Lovely, Rare and Highly Interesting Bracteate Penny

This highly interesting bracteate type with a crowned O, was struck for the underaged Olav by his mother, Queen Regent Margrethe I. No coins are known to have been struck for Olav (Oluf II) in Denmark. Olav IV was the last Norwegian king to be born on Norwegian soil until Harald V who took over the throne in 1991.
