Lustrous and Rare Ducat, Only a Handful Known
SWEDEN. Ducat, 1686-AS. Stockholm Mint. Karl XI. NGC AU Details--Obverse Scratched.
Fr-45; KM-283; SM-44; SG-56; Hagander-; Bruun-12431. Weight: 3.47 gms. Mintmaster: Anders Strömner. Engraver: Arvid Karlsteen. Extremely rare date with maybe as few as 4 in private hands. Very light wear on obverse and a few light scratches but mirror-like surfaces in the legend; the reverse with delicate die striations in the fields and almost fully lustrous. An amazing survivor with an astonishing pedigree.
