GERMANY. Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp. 2.5 Taler, ND (1607-16). Johann Adolf. NGC AU-55.
Dav-unlisted, cf. LS444; KM-unlisted, cf. 3; Sieg-12.4; Lange-cf. 264D; Bruun-14147. Weight: 73.07 gms. Excessively rare, unlisted as 2.5 Taler in KM, Lange and Davenport. This spectacular and impressive 2.5 Taler is only listed in Sieg, who were aware of the L. E. Bruun Collection. The closest we can come to anything like this coin is a 1.5 Taler from the same dies, which was sold in 2021. The present coin has wonderful, original surfaces and plenty of luster.
