Terms of Sale

The following conditions apply for the auction:
Unknown bidders are requested to identify themselves prior to the sale. The auctioneer reserves the right, exercisable at our complete discretion, to refuse admission to the premises or attendance at the auction.
For buyers personally present a 15% premium is charged over and above the knock-down price. To written bids, additionally to the 15%, a premium of 3%, for telephone bids a premium of 5% is charged. If delivered in Switzerland, silver and coins of other non-gold metals,
as well all medals, medallions, orders of merit, antiques etc. are charged with an additional 8% VAT on the sale price and premium. Payment is due immediately after adjudication and is payable in Swiss currency against delivery of the coins.
Adjudication ensues after the highest bid has been called three times, and commits the bidder to acceptance. Every buyer is personally liable for all purchases made. He cannot claim to act for a third
person. Should the purchase price not be paid within the agreed time limit, SINCONA AG may cancel
the purchase.
The auctioneer has the right at his absolute discretion to refuse any bid.
Bids in writing or bids at the sale are taken to imply full acceptance of the conditions of sale. Written bids below the estimated prices cannot be considered. Either/or bids, as well as total price limits, can only be accepted conditionally.
Purchase orders in writing will be executed by the auctioneer in the buyer's interest and must reach the auctioneer 24 hours before the start of the sale.
The auctioneer is entitled to depart from the numerical order of the catalogue and to join numbers. Lots cannot be divided. The auctioneer has the right, in case of error or dispute, to put an item up for bidding again.
The auction will be held in German and sometimes in English.
Coins purchased will be dispatched after payment, as soon as possible, for the account and the risk of the buyer. Any duties payable abroad, such as custom duties and taxes, are to be borne entirely by the buyer. There will be an additional charge of 0.5% of the invoice amount for shipment insurance. Due to restrictions in the law, shipment to Russia is no longer possible!! The auctioned goods
remain the sole and exclusive property of the vendor until full payment.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to comply with foreign customs and exchange regulations etc. The organizer of the auction declines all responsibility for any consequences arising from contravention of such regulations.
The authenticity of the coins is warranted. The specifications and descriptions in this catalogue have been prepared diligently and in good faith. Justified complaints can only be considered within eight days after the auction. For coins in "SLABS" the guarantee of authenticity no longer applies if the slab is opened.
Buyers present at the auction acquire items strictly „as seen“ and complaints will only be considered if obvious defects have been overlooked and not described in the catalogue.
Bidders purchasing by written bid have the possibility to inspect the auction lots during the days of viewing themselves, or by sending a representative. Complaints due to a difference in opinion on the state of preservation of a lot will not be considered. No complaint, whatsoever, will be considered for lots containing more than one item.
Telephone bids will only be accepted for lots in value of CHF 3000.- or more and must be announced to the auctioneer 48 hours before begin of the auction. A bid of at least the estimation value is a prerequisite.
The auction catalogue that is published in the internet has only informative character. For the auction sale the printed catalogue is relevant.
The place of performance and court of jurisdiction regarding relations between the organizers of the auction and the buyer shall be Zurich.
In all other respects, the conditions are those customary for auction sales held in Zurich. The responsible auctioneer is an official of the SINCONA AG. The municipal representative present at the auction, as well as the Municipality or the State, will take no responsibility for the actions of the auctioneer.
These conditions are available in German, French, Russian and English; the German version being definitive in the
event of any disputes.
