Roman Egyptian Lamp. A large Egyptian "frog" lamp, Roman, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, the body nicely decorated with a pair of palm fronds in high relief and three raised knobs, the central filling-hole possesses an inward-sloping rim with raised border and the short tapered nozzle with stylized volutes and double-grooves at nozzle junction. The base is flat and unmarked. Intact, crème buff, and a large example! L: 4 1/2â (10.4 cm). Ex Orange County private collection.
