Philadelphia, PA. 1866, Temporary Loan of 1862 Hessler X134 F, United States Treasury, Assistant Treasurer of the United States at Philadelphia, Gold Coin Certificate. $600 at 5% interest. A newly discovered issued example of ìPro Patriaî, listed on page 234 of Gene Hesslerís book: ìAn Illustrated History of U.S. Loans 1775-1898î . Rare Gold Coin Certificate. This was a certificate for depositing gold coin for at least thirty days and receiving the principal plus interest when this certificate was surrendered. The amount of gold coin deposited would be hand-written in and these were a multiple part form. This note, grades Very Fine Plus with bit of toning on the ledger section as shown, a few tiny pin holes and minor edge splits.
