William IV Shilling 1834 MS66+ PCGS, KM713, S-3835. A frosty jewel, the surfaces marvelously satiny, the details all bold, and the toning fully original with light silvery gray centers and greenish blue and amber golden iridescent peripheries. This king's shillings, in this grade, are among the most difficult of all silver issues of the 19th century to obtain. Our sales over the past few years have offered a handful of them, all from major collections, but otherwise the world market has offered almost none of this quality. Rare in this super grade. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $40 in VF, $175 in EF, $450 in UNC.
Estimate: 1500-2000 USD
