ROMANO-BYZANTINE. 4th-5th centuries. Æ Quarter Ounce – Six Scripula Commercial Weight (16mm, 6.65 g, 0h). Pair of crowned and draped half-length facing busts; below, S (value[?]) flanked by rosettes / Blank. Cf. Bendall, Weights 80-1 (half ounce); cf. Geneva 231 (same); cf. Münz Zentrum XXXVII, lot 4144 (for weight marked with S only). Good VF, black-green patina with orange earthen over-patina. Faces and S inlaid with silver. Exceptional.
