BOEOTIA, Thespiai. Circa 210 BC. Lot of two Æ. Both coins: Laureate female (Arsinoe III) head right, wearing modius and veil / Chelys. Varieties: (a) Æ 9mm (2.26 g, 10h). ΘΕΣΠΙ−ΕΩΝ downward on right and left of chelys, repectively. SNG Manchester 936; McClean 5652, pl. 203, 15. Very rare // (b) Æ 11mm (1.67 g, 10h). ΘΕΣ−ΠΙΕ[ΩΝ] upward on left and right of chelys, repectively. Unpublished variety. Very rare. Coins Fine and VF, respectively. Two (2) coins in lot.
