BANKNOTES, 紙鈔, CHINA - FOREIGN BANKS, 中國 - 外國銀行, Chinese Italian Banking Corporation 震義銀行: Complete Set of the 15 September 1921 issue, comprising: issued Yuan, serial no.383852, 5-Yuan, serial no.437675, 10-Yuan, serial no.188909, 50-Yuan, serial no.002676 and 100-Yuan, serial no.004872, 流通券, remainders without signature or branch office designation;
Uniface Obverse and Reverse Proof 單面正¬I試樣 Yuan, 5-Yuan, 10-Yuan, 50-Yuan and 100-Yuan, without serial numbers, perforation or overprint, all mounted on card stock;
Vignette Proof 景物圖試樣 of the bridge and pagoda featured at the centre of the obverse of all denominations, with pencil and ink notations "OK/initials/Dec. 19. 21" on the front, two "AMERICAN BANK NOTE CO SUP'T OFFICE" chops, "APPROVED BY H.R.T. DEC 19 1921" chop, and pencil notation "Engraved by Louis Deluca" on the back, 32mm x 52mm, mounted on card stock;
Original Photograph ¬鼒茪ù on which the bridge and pagoda vignette was based, 86.5mm x 143mm, with ink notation "THE CHINESE ITALIAN #F6872" below, mounted on card stock;
Index Card of the American Bank Note Company Archive 美國鈔票公司入藏資料卡 listing customer: Chinese Italian Bank Corp; subject: Bridge and Pagola (sic); order: F6872; date: 11/17/21; レ Original Photo; signed: -Herein; pencil notation 11/17/21; red ink notation "-VIG-C1770-PEN/2 Photo filed F6872" (P S253, S254, S255, S256, S257). The Yuan, 5-Yuan and 10-Yuan remainders uncirculated, the 50-Yuan good extremely fine and very scarce, the 100-Yuan with small pieces missing and glue stains around upper right corner, otherwise extremely fine and rare. The uniface and vignette proofs all uncirculated. The photograph and index card about uncirculated. A rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of this short-lived foreign bank both in issued form and in proof together with related vignette proof and supporting archive documents.
