CHINA. Three Hole Spade, Warring States Period (ca. 350-250 B.C.).
9.17 gms. cf.Hartill-3.489; Jen-24. VERY RARE. Obverse inscription of a type not listed in Hartill but with the denomination reverse of "Shi Er Zhu" (12 Zhu). One leg of the spade had broken off and been nicely repaired. Pale green patina over most of the surface, with the most minimal of deposits. A seldom offered spade type with a very brief casting period. CHOICE VERY FINE.
