CHINA. Two Volume Monograph of the Collection of Fang Ruo, ca. Early 20th Century.
A publication of the collection of Fang Ruo (1869-1955), the famed early collector and scholar of ancient Chinese coinage. This two volume set is comprised of two paperback books bound with thread and later covered with a brown paper book jacket. The two books are housed within a folding cardboard and cloth outer jacket. Within are rubbings of the ancient coins collected by Mr. Fang. These are printed on thin white paper and pasted to each page next to his observations about each coin type and poems he composed for each coin. This monograph was reprinted by Beijing University in 1988, but this copy is clearly a bit older. There is a bit of foxing to each of the volumes and one shows water staining on the inner pages, but both are in good condition without any major tears or damage. VERY FINE.

Estimate: $200.00- $300.00
