CHINA. Gold Fu Medallion, ND (ca. Early 20th Century).
60.05 mm; 57.07 gms. An impressive medallion bearing a large character "Fu" on one side and a four character auspicious inscription on the other. No maker or assay marks observed. While the characters and rims are flat and mirror bright, the fields are rough and finely granular giving a pleasing contrast. The characters and higher points display some wispy hairlines from old cleaning and polishing, but some toning in protected areas and along the periphery attest to the piece having a fair amount of age to it. A very appealing large size gold piece. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
