CHINA. 3.6 Candareens (5 Cents) Pattern, CD (1900). NGC MS-64.
L&M-10a; K-237; WS-0014; Wenchao-77 (rarity four stars). Restrike in Silver. Another VERY RARE restrike of the Peking (Beijing) mint series, struck from original dies. Like the preceding two lots, the surfaces of the coin show some die rust, which indicates it being a later made restrike; however, it should be noted that this denomination shows much less pitting than other denominations and is probably quite close to the appearance of an original. Nicely toned with hues of blue and light maroon framing the dragon, while the reverse is quite brilliant and only shows peripheral toning. A beautiful piece which will enhance any collection. The only example graded by NGC and numerically tied with the only example graded by PCGS, who grade these as specimens. NGC MS-64.
