CHINA. Date Set of (3) Junk Dollars, ca. 1932-34.
3 pieces in lot. Comprised of examples of each year of the Sun Yat-sen/Junk coinage. The 1932 birds over junk (L&M-108) is quite lustrous and nice with multi-hued reverse toning and graded PCGS MS-62, the 1933 issue is also lustrous and attractive with some light peripheral toning and is graded PCGS MS-63, and lastly the 1934 issue has nice toning and luster as well, but has been cleaned at some point being graded PCGS Genuine--Cleaned AU Details. The set comes with the case in which it was stored in a three pocket cardboard slide. A paper description card on the inside of the lid purports that the coins were obtained in China on VJ day, September 2, 1945. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details to MS-63 Secure Holder.
