(S/M#C290-71) Chungking. Overprint on Szechuan Provincial Government Pick S2816. Black outs over as issued bank name, with new name in red overprints at left and right. A design type we have never previously handled and certainly a piece missing in even the most comprehensive collections. Shown in a medium to large format with brilliant blue color and green character under-prints. Houses in vignette, center with guilloche flanking at each side. Ornate back styling again in blue with "YU-50-AN," in guilloche at left center and people bridge in identical frame at right center. Blacked out bank name again with overprinted "THE FARMERS BANK OF CHINA," arched below. Some well executed repairs and a touch of rust are observed but the overall appeal is quite pleasing. PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Repaired, Rust.
