PHILIPPINES. Knights of Rizal Breast Star, ND (Founded 1911).
A heavy brass and enamel hanging badge of the Knights of Rizal, an organization founded in 1911 and continuing on today, to uphold and honor the ideals of Philippine national hero Jose Rizal. This badge is composed of an eight point multi-rayed star suspended from a figural hanger of an armored medieval knight. Superimposed on the star is a green enameled laurel wreath with a "K" on the left and a "R" on the right, as well as a white banner inscribed "PHILIPPINES". At the center is mounted a triangle with a portrait of Rizal with a star in each angle. Hidden below the bottom star is the number "50". One tiny sliver of white enamel is missing from the banner, otherwise the enamels are complete, and the badge is EXTREMELY FINE.
