Henry VIII (1509-47), second coinage 1526-44, Penny, 0.51g, Sovereign type, Canterbury, Bishop Cranmer, m.m. catherine wheel/-, king crowned and enthroned, facing, holding sceptre and orb, rev. civitas cantor, shield over long cross fourchée, t c beside (Stewartby p.473; N.1810; S.2351), a couple of small chips but the sovereign portrait very pleasing, this piece certainly with eye appeal and particularly sharp in areas, good very fine or better, very rare. Estimate: £300.00 - £400.00
